Hair Growth

Do you want to maximize your hair growth? No matter the reason: wedding, prom date, job interview, beauty pageant or what have you, there is actually little you can do to make your hair grow faster. Hair grows at different rates on different parts of your body. The average growth rate of hair on your head is ½ inch per month. Not a lot you can do about that, but having said that, there are some things you can try to do in order to make your hair grow faster.

Nutrition for Better Hair

This is used not really to stimulate hair regrowth, but to prevent any hair loss. First of all, drink plenty of water. Dehydration can slow your body down in general, and make your hair dry and brittle. Second, drink tea. Tea has compounds that improve circulation and nourish your scalp and hair follicles. Third, eat plenty of proteins. Since hair is protein, any protein deficiencies in your diet may slow your hair growth.

Exercise
Exercise does your body good, and that includes your hair. An improved cardiovascular system promotes good circulation and makes for healthy hair follicles. Experts recommend walking 30 minutes a day for at least 3 days week. Callisthenic exercises like push-ups and pull-ups and sit-ups are also effective in making your body trim and fit. Anything that’s good for your body is good for your hair.

Sleep

Adults need between 6-8 hours of sleep each night to maintain optimal health. Sleep deprivation can only serve to inhibit hair regeneration. Sleep deprivation reduces your body’s ability to regulate digestion, immune system, mood and energy usage. So don’t skimp on your sleep! Take naps during the day if you can. Otherwise, your health (and your hair) may suffer.

Attitude
Optimists live longer healthier lives than grouchy old pessimists. Looking on the bright side of things can only help to improve your health and promote growth of hair. Besides, stressing out over trivial matters can only contribute to gray hairs! So laugh more and love more! Don’t let stress get to you. Otherwise, instead of smooth silky hair, you may find yourself with gray crinkly hair.

Doing the things mentioned above may give your hair a fighting chance to grow faster than average. But don’t expect miracles, however, because there really isn’t much you can do to encourage your hair to grow faster than normal. Hair growth occurs on its own schedule and pace.
